More than 1 million students benefited from the USAID Afghan Children Read program over its five years. The program and its partners changed the education landscape in Afghanistan, working closely with the Ministry of Education to bolster its ability to deliver early grade reading education. Improved curriculum, teacher training and policy not only directly impacted current students but also laid the groundwork for continued strengthening of the early grade reading system across the country. Curriculum&Materials: Textbooks, workbooks & teaching materials distributed 4.8 Million
PLUS New early grade reading curriculum developed
