NERI started a Pilot Book Club for high school girls in Maiduguri LGA, Borno State, training 10 book club facilitators to mentor 100 girls. This activity empowered girls to improve their reading and helped build their confidence so they may better express and assert themselves in their communities. They also learned valuable life skills such as how to articulate opinions, present arguments and discuss challenges they face as they explore the context of the stories they read.
